Stress Test
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a common cause of chest pain and breathlessness, particularly on exertion, though there are other cardiac causes.
Initial investigation for coronary artery disease usually involves stress testing. A number of patients may not be able to perform a standard treadmill exercise test because of mobility or other problems
The investigation can also be used to guide treatment in patients with known CAD and to assess operative risk for patients undergoing non cardiac surgery.
