Advanced Cardiac Life Support Workshop

D Y Patil University Medical Simulation Laboratory organised ACLS workshop on 17th March 2018 keeping in line with its vision to transform healthcare education.

The workshop kicked off with an introduction to basic life support skills by Dr Amit Nagpal (Course Co-ordinator) post which the attendees were divided into 3 groups with the aim of highlighting the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication in recognition and intervention of various medical cases.
The patients were subjected to evidence-based learning techniques as they experienced the different technologies in the simulation lab. Their performance was recorded and discussed in an informative de-briefing session where they were given an opportunity to learn from their mistakes whilst getting a different perspective on the medical scenarios.
The workshop held good on its promise to ensure that the attendees left with enhanced skills in the differential diagnosis and treatment of various medical emergencies through cooperative learning and active participation in case-based scenarios that were stimulated on sophisticated equipment of the laboratory.
